Sliabh Liag is Ireland’s ultimate sea cliff experience and a signature point on the Wild Atlantic Way coastal touring route. Located in the Gaeltacht region of County Donegal, Sliabh Liag are the highest accessible sea cliffs in Europe where the cliff face of Bunglas rises over 600m above the ocean below. We have a host of events for you to choose from:
- 5km Uphill Challenge, 500m+ elevation gain
- 13km Run/Hike, 530m+ elevation gain
- 25km Run/Hike, 1,000m+ elevation gain
- 50km Run/Hike, 2,000m+ elevation gain
- Marathon Trilogy: 5km Uphill Challenge + 13km + 25km

General Race Information All information will be confirmed race week, but general details are as follows. The event takes place at Teelin, Co. Donegal, and headquarters are the Sliabh Liag visitors centre 200m from the Rusty Mackerel pub. Start Times Saturday, May 6th 13k - 1 loop @ 9 am 5k Uphill @ 3 pm (walk from finish back to start) Sunday, May 7th 50k - 4 loops @ 7am 25k - 2 loops @ 8am All events will start & finish at the Sliabh Liag Visitors centre. (5k uphill finishing top of pilgrim path). Start / finish / parking/ registration are all in the one area adjacent to the centre. Registration / Number pick up This will take place before each event. 13k : 7.30 - 8.30 am 5k Uphill : 2.00 - 2.40 pm 50k : 6.00 - 6.40 am 25k : 7.00 - 7.45 am Venue Sliabh Liag Visitors Centre. Refreshments will be served after each event (tbc). Footwear Trail Running shoes with good cushioning / or hiking boots, walking shoes if you are hiking - walking event. Terrain is tarred road, gravel tracks, soft ground- potentially muddy if wet, some scrambling along larger rocks & stone steps. Gear needed As the event takes place on Sea cliffs the weather is very changeable. Hopefully May will have nice summer weather but you never know ! A good Waterproof Jacket is recommended, and a small backpack to carry goods. As this is an Adventure run / hike, you are required to carry your own water / drink for the event. A small backpack, or race vest is required to carry drink / waterproof jacket / snacks, gels and other items you may want to carry. Water / Coke / Sweets will be available at end of each loop for anyone that needs to refill on 25k / 50k.
